I have been doing direct access work for about 15 years.
1. - Children
I represent mothers and fathers in complex cases involving arrangements for their children, in particular where there is concern about domestic abuse or alienating behaviours, or applications to relocate children.
I have worked with some clients over many years involving issues of internal and international relocation and intractable disputes. I like to form a close working and supportive relationships with clients.
Due to the complex nature of the cases I do, they sometimes result in a guardian being appointed for the child[ren], or local authorities become involved [e.g. via section 37 report].

2. - Finances
I also work with husbands and wives who are divorcing, to help them resolve their finances as quickly and cost effectively as possible, including for HNW individuals with complex property holdings and corporate assets.
I have sometimes acted for other family members with property interests which are linked to the divorce, to ensure those interests are protected.

What sort of work do I do?

I appear in the family courts and the High Court of the Family Division in cases about children
e.g. with child arrangements,
specific issues, sometimes about health, schooling,
prohibited steps orders,
applications for relocation and
s 91 (14) orders, which provide a filter to further applications for a specified time, to avoid unnecessary future litigation.
Specific issues orders can include dealing with issues about names of children, passports, going on holiday, school choices and medical treatment.
Finances after divorce.
Financial support for unmarried parents of children.

Who do I work for?

My clients are mothers and father, wives and husbands dealing with what is best for their children, including with whom they should live, who they should spend time with, whether a mother or father or children need protective measures, whether a parent should be permitted to spend time with their child, whether a parent can relocate with the children, and dealing with finances after divorce or where an unmarried parent needs financial assistance for a child.
