He accepts instruction from individuals seeking advice and/or representation in relation to university and college proceedings, as well as in Fitness to Practice proceedings in cases of students who are registered with their respective professional regulatory body. Due to his academic background as a lecturer and in university professorial roles involving student disciplinary functions, he has a particular expertise in educational matters. He has acted in complex substantive hearings of several weeks in length involving the highest sanction of strike off and removal from the professional register, as well as cases involving removal of university visa sponsorship arising from criminal allegations.

He has acted in complex substantive hearings of several weeks in length involving the highest sanction of strike off and removal from the professional register, as well as cases where complex health issues arise. He is available for instruction before the General Medical Council (GMC), General Dental Council (GDC), and the disciplinary bodies of the United Nations (UN) and other international organizations.

He accepts instructions from doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, actuaries, teachers, academics, students, and staff subject to internal or external investigations, as well as from those facing proceedings before international organisations. He appears regularly in substantive and interim hearings before bodies such as the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA), Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA), General Medical Council (GMC), General Dental Council (GDC), and university and college disciplinary and Fitness to Practise tribunals, and is available to act before United Nations (UN) and other international disciplinary bodies. Tom has extensive experience in complex, multi‑week hearings involving the most serious sanctions, including strike off, removal from the professional register and associated loss of career or studying opportunities, as well as cases raising complex health issues or immigration consequences such as loss of university visa sponsorship.
