Area of Law

Family

As Head of Chambers at Anvil Chambers, I have built a practice focused on delivering clear, strategic, and robust representation. Recognised year after year by the Legal 500 as a leading barrister, my work primarily involves matrimonial finance and private law children disputes. I understand that family law matters are often deeply personal and legally complex, so I aim to provide clarity and support to clients during these challenging times.

I specialise in matrimonial finance, handling cases ranging from modest asset disputes to ultra-high net worth matters. This includes complex financial arrangements, such as disputes over family businesses, freezing orders, and intricate settlements. I also frequently represent cohabitants in property disputes under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 (TOLATA).

In private law children disputes, I represent parents and grandparents in child arrangements, contact disputes, and leave-to-remove (relocation) applications. I also handle Schedule 1 children matters involving financial provision for children of unmarried parents. My approach is to offer clear, honest advice and practical solutions, ensuring my clients' rights are protected with determination and focus, whether in negotiations or court.

Wills and Probate

I specialise in inheritance and probate law, particularly claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. This area brings together my expertise in contested probate and family finance, allowing me to provide clear, practical guidance in complex legal matters.

I handle a wide range of issues, including disputes over the validity of wills, challenges around testamentary capacity and undue influence, deeds of variation and rectification, and matters related to trusts and beneficial ownership of property. I also advise on non-contentious probate matters.

Whether you need representation in court or advice on your legal standing, I offer straightforward, thorough guidance to ensure you fully understand your position. My goal is to protect your rights with firm and effective advocacy.

In some cases, I represent multiple parties, such as siblings contesting a will or making a joint claim. With prior agreement, I balance all parties' interests fairly and strategically.

Inheritance disputes can be challenging, but I provide clear, step-by-step advice to help you feel confident and supported throughout, whether in court or in advisory matters.
