Kayleigh's practice is specialised in all matters relating to children; both public and private law. She is also able to assist in Family Law Act applications.
Kayleigh began her career at a Chambers in York, undertaking a common law pupillage which meant that she gained experience across many areas of law including family, criminal, civil and employment law. Whilst she now specialises in family law only; this previous experience means that she has knowledge in areas that often overlap with family law, and she was able to build strong advocacy skills which she continues to hone.
Kayleigh prides herself on her professional yet down to earth approach, and on her ability to build a rapport with clients who quickly feel at ease. Kayleigh is a compassionate barrister who does not forget how difficult is is for individuals to navigate the family justice system, and how important it is to have somebody competent and robust in your corner.

What sort of work do I do?
In her public law practice, Kayleigh is regularly instructed in serious and complex cases to represent local authorities, children's guardians and parents. She deals with cases involving issues around non-accidental injury, neglect, mental health, domestic abuse, substance misuse, and matters with an international element. In her private law practice, Kayleigh has represented parents, grandparents and Guardians in sensitive cases that are highly contentious, with multiple and complex issues. Kayleigh's experience from her public law practice is invaluable in dealing with her private law cases.
Kayleigh is also experienced in Family Law Act applications.
Kayleigh decided to start taking on public access cases in recognition of the benefits to clients to instructing experienced Counsel directly and how this assists in access to justice.
