Area of Law
Chancery
The focus of my chancery practice is on: real property including, boundaries, rights of way, easements, mortgages, covenants, restrictions, unilateral notices etc; and probate and inheritance disputes.
I also deal with contractual disputes and insolvency.
Landlord and Tenant
I have extensive experience in relation to all matters falling within the jurisdiction of the Residential Property Division of the FTT, including: service charges, leasehold enfranchisement, RTM, and civil penalties imposed under Housing Act 2004.
I also advise commercial landlords and tenants.
Professional Negligence
Property transactions are frequently complex and mistakes inevitably occur. I advise my clients in relation to claims for compensation when they have been let down by their professional advisers.
Property
From the beginning of my practice as a barrister I have specialised in matters relating to real property: boundaries, rights of way, easements, mortgages, restrictions, unilateral notices covenants etc.

I also have extensive experience of co-ownership disputes and trusts.
Wills and Probate
From the beginning of my practice as a barrister in 1995 I have specialised in matters relating to Wills and Probate. My experience includes challenges to wills on grounds of; forgery, want of knowledge and approval, undue influence and lack of testamentary capacity.
I have also acted for client in relation to claim under Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
I am currently representing a claimant seeking the provision of DNA samples with a view to proving that he is the son of a wealthy deceased.
What sort of work do I do?
My training was in chancery disputes: real property, wills, trusts, probate, contracts, insolvency etc and I still practise across that broad field although I have gradually come to specialise more in property and probate disputes.
Who do I work for?
I act for businesses and individuals: property developers, property owners, landlords, tenants, solicitors, surveyors, executors, trustees and beneficiaries.
