Optimus Chambers was originally set up in 2012 when Micaila decided to leave conventional private practice and work alone in an attempt to have more control over her work/home life balance.
Subsequently, she was provided with an opportunity to work in house at a High Street firm of Solicitors and Optimus Chambers was put to bed for a few years whilst she gained a wealth of knowledge and experience which can only be gained from a busy High Street firm.
Since her return to private practice, Micaila has been keen to keep a varied practice with her prime focus on client care and achieving a sense of justice for them, whatever their problems.
Upon recommendation by the Lord Chief Justice, Micaila was appointed in 2022 as a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates' Court) to sit at Nottingham Magistrates' Court amongst other locations. This is a part-time role and as such, Micaila will still be able to undertake work in private practice.
Micaila was called to the Bar in 2004 and began practice immediately focussing on Criminal Law. She has since then obtained her Duty Solicitor Qualification and Police Station Accreditation

Throughout her time at the Bar Micaila has defended and prosecuted a variety of offences in the Youth Court, Magistrates Court and Crown Court.
Having obtained both her Duty Solicitor and Police Station accreditations she is able to represent and advise Clients throughout proceedings from the Police Station right the way to the ECHR.
Nowadays, she spends most of her time in the Crown Court defending all manner of criminal offences. She has also been instructed to deal with specific applications including PII, POCA, SHPOs, Abuse of Process and Appeals to the Court of Appeal.
What sort of work do I do?
Micaila is predominantly instructed in Criminal Matters, but is able to provide advice, assistance and reputation in many other common law areas including Employment including Settlement Agreements, Contract, Consumer and general civil law.
At Optimus Chambers we provide a very flexible approach to providing you with the legal advice and assistance you need. Although based in Northamptonshire, we are able to take instructions throughout England & Wales on all matters.
Depending on the nature of your requirements and our availability we can usual provide advice and assistance via telephone, email, video conferencing or of course in the more traditional face to face meeting in one of our meeting rooms.
