Nozima Rakhimjonova
Nozima has a strong academic foundation, holding a BA (Hons) in Commercial Law from the University of Westminster (Tashkent) and an LLM in International Business, Corporate and Finance Law from Liverpool John Moores University, where she was awarded the prestigious International Roscoe Scholarship. She later completed the Bar Professional Training Course at City, University of London, and was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Inner Temple in 2018.
Before joining Fraser Chambers, Nozima gained valuable experience at Sterling Law, assisting in commercial and company proceedings, managing immigration appeals, and supporting high-profile litigation. She acted as assistant to a solicitor-advocate in the landmark family case IU v OS [2020] EWFC 98 and contributed to the Country Guidance case on Ukraine – PK and OS [2020] UKUT 314 (IAC). More recently, she was junior counsel in the Court of Appeal case Secretary of State for the Home Department v Rexhaj [2024] EWCA Civ 784, led by Anthony Metzer KC, and involved in the commercial appeal Valeriy Ernestovich Drelle v Service Terminal Ltd [2025] EWCA Civ 62, concerning the recognition of a Russian judgment in English bankruptcy proceedings.

Immigration, Asylum and Nationality
Nozima has acted in numerous appeal and judicial review claims challenging decisions of the Secretary of State, successfully representing appellants in complex immigration matters. Recent work includes overturning a refusal to grant settlement on Long Residence grounds and securing wasted costs in the same case. She is currently led by Sanaz Saifolahi in a complex appeal involving the Article 1F exclusion and public policy grounds.
Inquests and Public Inquiries
Nozima represents interested persons in complex and sensitive proceedings. She is currently instructed in a complex Article 2 and jury inquest concerning the operation of section 17 of the Mental Health Act and alleged breaches of duty by a care facility and the police in safeguarding life. She acts for the family of the deceased and is also involved in other ongoing inquest matters.
Landlord and Tenant
Nozima advises and represents clients in possession claims and related contractual matters. She recently acted for landlords in a successful possession trial, securing possession on discretionary grounds. In the same proceedings, she substantially reduced the landlords’ potential liability for non-compliance with deposit protection regulations, from over £30,000 to £2,000, and successfully rebutted a housing disrepair claim.
Private International Law
Nozima has experience in international commercial arbitration and enforcement matters. She is currently involved in multiple LCIA arbitration proceedings, including a complex dispute over the validity of a discharge agreement and allegations of fraud by the former management of a bank in liquidation, where she represents the respondent bank alongside a team of barristers. She is also engaged in an LCIA arbitration concerning digital marketing and token trading
What sort of work do I do?
Nozima works across a diverse range of legal areas, with a focus on both commercial and public law matters. This includes international commercial arbitration, where she handles complex disputes such as fraud allegations and contractual issues in LCIA proceedings. She also deals with commercial litigation and private international law, managing contractual disputes, enforcing foreign judgments, and negotiating settlements.
In landlord and tenant law, Nozima advises on possession claims and related contractual issues, recently achieving a significant win for landlords by securing possession and reducing potential liabilities.
On the public law and immigration side, she regularly acts in appeals and judicial reviews challenging decisions of the Secretary of State, including complex immigration cases involving settlement refusals and exclusions under Article 1F. Nozima also represents clients in judicial reviews, successfully challenging unlawful decisions by public bodies.
Additionally, Nozima represent interested persons in sensitive inquest proceedings, particularly those involving allegations of breaches of duty in safeguarding life.
Finally, Nozima works on extradition cases, including politically sensitive matters, defending clients against requests from foreign authorities.
