I am a popular and proactive barrister specialising in civil and commercial work with a particular specialism in Wills, Trusts and Probate and Real Estate Litigation. I hold a particular strength in solving difficult problems, and I am regularly instructed, in matters dealing with unique and complex relationships between the parties. I am often instructed to resolve such difficult problems at mediation and I have been very successful in achieving satisfying outcomes for clients outside of Court. I can, and have regularly, appeared in the County Court, High Court and the Court of Appeal as well as the First Tier Property Tribunal.

Chancery
I regularly undertake all forms of chancery related work such as issues relating to wills, trusts and probate as well as claims in equity. This includes claims involving constructive and resulting trusts, proprietary estoppel, fraud, undue influence, unjust enrichment and fiduciary relationships.
Commercial
I undertake general civil and commercial work including cases involving consumer credit, the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and cases involving contracts generally including claims in misrepresentation.
Insolvency and Restructuring
I have extensive experience of representing creditors, debtors and insolvency practitioners (trustees and liquidators, for example) in bankruptcy and winding up proceedings, including various types of insolvency applications under the Insolvency Act 1986 and the Insolvency Rules 2016. I also hold expertise in cross-border insolvency matters.
Landlord and Tenant
I hold a lot of experience in representing clients at landlord and tenant possession hearings, whether Section 8 or Section 21 possession hearings. I also undertake work related to tenancy deposit issues and disrepair claims.
Private International Law
I have experience in dealing with conflicts of laws issues having represented clients in cases involving property and goods located abroad as well as jurisdictional issues.
Property
This is one of my key disciplines. I undertake a high volume of work in this area of law. This includes boundary disputes, possession matters, issues relating to easements, mortgages, charges, registration, adverse possession, licences and restrictive covenants.
Wills and Probate
I regularly act on behalf of executors and administrators of estates as well as beneficiaries of estates when dealing with charitable bequests, challenges to wills and the actions of such executors and administrators.
What sort of work do I do?
I am a specialist commercial law barrister and I advise, draft legal documents and appear in Court on behalf of clients dealing with all aspects of civil and commercial disputes. These can range from cases involving a breach of contract and consumer issues through to bankruptcy and liquidation of companies. I hold a particular strength and specialism in property and wills, trusts and probate matters. This includes landlord and tenant and mortgagor and mortgagee disputes, as well as boundary disputes, and matters involving equity (proprietary estoppel and unjust enrichment for example). I also take on cases involving a challenge to the validity of wills and have acted on behalf of executors and administrators of estates. I also assist clients in cross-border disputes in the above fields of law. I also undertake appeals in the above areas of law.
