Ruth is an experienced family barrister with substantial experience advising and representing clients both in financial proceedings and disputes relating to children following the breakdown of a relationship.

Ruth qualified as a solicitor in 2006 before transferring to the Bar in 2014.

Ruth combines detailed case preparation with focused and persuasive advocacy. She is known for providing realistic advice, maintaining a firm grip on the key issues and guiding clients confidently through what can be a demanding and stressful process.


What sort of work do I do?

Ruth advises and represents clients in all aspects of financial remedy proceedings, including:

• Enforcement and variation of financial orders
Alongside her financial practice, Ruth has significant experience in private law children proceedings. She represents parents in disputes concerning child arrangements, specific issue and prohibited steps applications, including cases involving allegations of domestic abuse, parental alienation and entrenched breakdown in contact.
She can assist before proceedings are issued by advising on strategy, likely outcomes and the most appropriate applications to make. Ruth also supports clients with the preparation of court documents, including Form E, questionnaires and witness statements, and provides robust representation at hearings.
