I am a specialist family law barristers with more than 19 years experience in family finance and children cases. I advise on the financial aspects of divorce including property, pensions, maintenance and other assets. I also provide representation in cases concerning child arrangements, relocation applications and other welfare decisions.

I have extensive experience in matrimonial proceedings and I am often instructed in cases involving international elements, trusts, businesses, third party interests and hidden assets. I advise and represent clients in relation to pre and post nuptial agreements, jurisdictional issues, and in high net worth cases. I focus on providing considered, clear and practical advice from the outset. I am extremely effective in achieving results through negotiation and in court. I advise on applications for financial provision under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989.

I am very experienced in children cases and I always ensure that I put my clients at ease to support them in addressing the important issues in their case. I undertake the full range of private law children matters often representing parents and family members in cases involving complex factual and legal issues including international and jurisdictional disputes or where local authorities are involved. I have expertise in cases involving allegations of coercive control, economic, sexual and physical abuse as well as intractable contact disputes and allegations of parental alienation. I advise clients on applications involving proposed relocations (UK and abroad), religious upbringing and school selection.

What sort of work do I do?

I represent clients in all types of financial disputes arising from divorce as well as in children matters at all stages of proceedings, from pre-proceedings to appeal.

In financial matters I can provide advice on engaging with the pre-action protocol, early settlement Non-Court Dispute Resolution as well as in relation to proceedings, at First Appointment, FDR and Final Hearing.

I also represent other parties who may become involved in a court case because they own or have an interest in a property which a divorcing couple have a dispute over.

In children matters I can provide early advice including on the options available via Non-Court Dispute Resolution as an alternative to court proceedings. If court proceedings are necessary I can provide representation at all types of hearings as well as offering ongoing advice.
