Direct Access Barrister

Tutku Bektas

My direct access work exclusively focuses on challenging decisions made by Higher Education Providers (HEPs), such as universities, colleges and organisations that provide courses at degree level or higher.

I was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2018 and admitted as an attorney to practice law in New York in 2021. I completed my pupillage in September 2024, after gaining 5 years of experience working as a lawyer in international law firms and in other legal roles within international organisations, including the International Court of Justice and the United Nations.
